MBB (Multi-Bus-Bar)
MBB technology equips the solar cell with 12 or 16 busbars instead of the traditional 4, 5, or 6. This design provides higher power output and improved reliability. The use of thin, rounded copper wires eliminates the need for ribbons across the solar cell. The rounded cross-section enhances optical performance by reflecting more light into the solar cell.
PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact)
PERC technology features a passivated rear layer, which prevents radiation from escaping through the back of the cell, thereby improving efficiency and overall power generation.
Half-Cut Technology
Half-cut technology increases panel production by reducing the size of the cells, allowing twice as many smaller cells to fit into the panel. These smaller cells are more durable, leading to a longer lifespan for half-cut solar panels. Kontio Solar’s monocrystalline cell is laser-cut into two halves, creating two parallel solar cells that operate independently.
For example, if a shadow (such as from a tree) covers part of the solar cell, the upper cell continues generating power at full capacity.

- Kontio Solar’s Anti-PID technology significantly reduces the PID effect by using high-quality quartz glass that naturally contains sodium. PID (Potential-Induced Degradation) in solar panels occurs due to significant potential differences between the semiconductor material (the cell) and other module components (such as glass, brackets, or aluminum frame). Kontio Solar’s grounding technique further helps mitigate PID degradation.
