MBB (Multi-Bus-Bar)
MBB technology equips the solar cell with 12 or 16 busbars instead of the traditional 4, 5, or 6. This design delivers higher power output and improved reliability. The use of thin, rounded copper wires eliminates the need for ribbons across the cell. The rounded cross-section enhances optical performance by reflecting more light into the solar cell.
PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact)
PERC technology incorporates a passivated rear layer that prevents radiation from escaping through the back of the cell, improving efficiency and overall power generation.
Half-Cut Technology
Half-cut technology increases panel output by reducing the size of the cells, allowing twice the number of smaller cells in one panel. These smaller cells are more durable and extend the panel’s lifespan. Kontio Solar’s monocrystalline cells are laser-cut into halves, creating two parallel circuits that operate independently. If part of the panel is shaded, the unshaded section continues producing power at full capacity.
Advantages of smaller cells include lower internal resistance, reduced power loss, lower operating temperatures, and increased electricity production.
Anti-PID (Potential-Induced Degradation) Technology
Kontio Solar’s Anti-PID technology reduces PID effects through high-quality quartz glass containing natural sodium. PID occurs due to significant potential differences between the semiconductor material (cell) and other module components (glass, brackets, or aluminum frame). Kontio Solar’s grounding techniques further mitigate PID degradation.
