The product is made of recycled plastic (PE) and has the thickest thermal insulation (PS) on the market.

Check your municipality’s waste management regulations, which may differ from place to place. Find out what is required for composting in your area.
Choose the model that suits you best, we recommend Kekkilä Home composter or Kekkilä Thermal composter. Buying a quality composter is an investment that pays off quickly.
Prepare a composting declaration if required in your area. You can usually find the form on the municipality’s website.
Choose a suitable place for the composter that is not too close to the border of the plot. Ease of access is important, so place the composter along access routes.
The most important thing is to focus on recycling waste and producing your own soil with your new composter. Fill the composter regularly and don’t forget to use Compost Peat as an intermediate layer, which is an absorbent mixture that keeps the compost airy and fragrant.
Opening and closing the thermal lid
The home composter lid’s locking latch and support hinges make it easy to use and ensure an airtight construction. The locking latch is easily opened by pulling the rubber part, and the support hinge is released by moving it back and forth slightly. The lid can be conveniently placed on the edge of the holder for filling. After filling the composter with biowaste and compost mass, the support sleeve is placed in place by lifting and lowering the lid. The locking latch is well closed and composting can continue at an even faster pace if the microorganisms have enough work to break it down.
Opening and closing the discharge hatch
The emptying hatch is easy to open thanks to convenient locking latches. Due to the large opening, it is easy to lift the compost into, for example, a garden cart. Since the compostable mass is in the upper part of the composter, the composter can be emptied at any time. Close the lid and let the mass sink to the bottom under its own power.
Filling the composter
Using a composter is easy. A 5 cm thick layer of wood chips, thin branches or Kekkilä bark mulch is placed at the bottom. Add household waste to the composter regularly, a few times a week. Spread household waste evenly and always add bulk material (e.g. Kekkilä compost and toilet peat) to 30-50% of the amount of household waste.
From the point of view of the functioning of the composter, it is important to regularly add kitchen waste and maintain the correct moisture level. The moisture level is correct when you can squeeze a few drops of water out of a handful of compost. If the compost is too dry, it needs to be watered. If the compost is too wet, bulk material must be added. In addition to kitchen waste, the composter is also suitable for composting garden waste and post-composting dry toilet waste. During post-composting, toilet waste should be covered with bulk material.
The compost should be mixed and turned every two weeks with a suitable stirring stick to allow air to pass through the compost. Once a month, compost should be added to the bottom
