Dear Reader, I am pleased to share yet another MOSO Estonia blog post with you. This time we will take a closer look at how to create exciting and sustainable interior solutions using bamboo materials. Undeniably, bamboo as a material offersunlimited design possibilities. Due to the wide selection of products, it is easy to let your imagination run wild. Below you will find inspiring examples from MOSO recent projects.

Bamboo blockboard/plywood – endless possibilities!

MOSO bamboo panels are available in various thicknesses: 7, 16, 20, 25, 38 and 40 mm providing the opportunity to use them in many different ways. For example, a 40 mm solid panel can be used as a work surface, door panel or stair plate as well as in many other solutions. The different visuals of plywood are Side Pressed (SP), Plain Pressed (PP) and High Density (HD). SP and PP offer the characteristic appearance of natural bamboo and HD of tropical wood. Character can be added with matte varnish or an oil finish. Bamboo wall materials can also be combined with other bamboo products, such as bamboo parquet.

Flexbamboo – a solution for economical renovation

Flexbamboo is a very adaptable, reasonably priced finishing material made of bamboo lamellas, available in rolls or sheets. It can be used as a wall covering as well as for other furnishing solutions, such as covering furniture. The uniqueness of the product lies in the flexibility of the material, due to which curved surfaces can be covered with Flexbamboo as well.

Bamboo materials in all their glory

The new headquarters of the telecommunications company Orange in Issy-les- Moulineaux near Paris was designed by the interior design agency Viguier. Bamboo is one of the three dominant materials, and architects were not afraid to use bamboo surface materials in many different ways:

● wood veneer was used as an acoustic panel and as a door panel in the auditorium
● panels were used in the construction of doors, auditorium seats, handrails, aisle-ways and stairs
● planks and rafters were used for acoustic ceilings and as walls behind curtains
