Adhesion primer for priming concrete, construction boards and other stone surfaces

BAUTEQ Primer is a specially selected adhesion primer with optimal price and efficiency for priming various stone surfaces. It is also used in wet room systems as a base primer for the waterproofing mastic Imperbox, as well as for preventing wall surface dusting and strengthening weak surfaces.

BAUTEQ Primer is not specifically intended for use as a mixture additive.

The given parameters are measured at 23 °C and 50% relative humidity.

Applications

• For priming floor and wall surfaces before applying leveling compounds or tile adhesives.

• For strengthening floor surfaces and increasing wear resistance.

• For strengthening plaster surfaces and improving adhesion before applying topcoats or surface finishes.

• For strengthening problematic substrates before tiling.

• For protecting stone surfaces against water and alkalis.

Suitable substrates
Concrete, mortar, brick, natural stone, aerated concrete, wood and chipboards, polymeric materials, etc.

Application conditions
Ambient air and substrate temperature must be at least +10 °C and relative humidity up to 80%.
The surface to be coated must be clean, dry, and free of dust. Apply with a paint roller, sprayer, or brush.

Instructions for use

FLOORS:

1. Floor surfaces to be leveled (priming floors to improve adhesion before applying leveling compounds): dispersion : water = 1:3 to 1:5

2. Concrete finishing layers, manually applied leveling layers (strengthening floors and increasing wear resistance): dispersion : water = 1:3 to 1:10

3. Concrete floor surfaces (strengthening weak surfaces): dispersion : water = 1:5 to 1:10

WALLS AND CEILINGS:

1. Plaster (improving adhesion): dispersion : water = 1:3 to 1:10 or up to 1:15

2. Cement mortars 1–5 mm (improving adhesion): dispersion : water = 1:3

3. Cement mortars 5–20 mm (improving adhesion): dispersion : water = 1:5

4. Plaster and lime surfaces (strengthening weak surfaces, apply dispersion with brush and let dry): dispersion : water = 1:10, on lime surfaces up to 1:20

On non-absorbent surfaces, use undiluted adhesion primer.

Before applying BAUTEQ Imperbox waterproofing mastic, all absorbent floor and wall surfaces must be primed according to the above instructions.

To prepare the working solution, mix BAUTEQ Primer with water according to the specified ratios.
When priming, apply the primer so that no puddles remain on the surface. For strengthening surfaces, remove loose dust before impregnation with primer.

Storage

Guaranteed shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture, if stored in a dry place in tightly sealed original packaging at +5 °C to +30 °C. The product is frost-sensitive.

Safety requirements

Avoid contact of the chemical with skin and eyes. Wear suitable protective gloves and eye/face protection. Avoid skin contact. More detailed safety information is available in the product Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
