Grilling plank for cooking fish or meat.
Usage: Soak the plank in water for at least 30 minutes before placing it on the grill. If you are cooking fish with the skin on, coat the skin with cooking oil before placing it on the plank. Place the fish skin-side down on the plank. On a charcoal grill, push the prepared coals to one side of the grill and place the plank with food on the grate on the other side. Close the grill during cooking.
Serve the food directly on the plank. The grilling plank can be used two or three times, and in the end, you can break the charred remains onto the grill and use them to generate smoke while grilling. For reuse, simply rinse the plank with water and store in a clean, dry place. Do not use soap, as it will alter the flavor properties of the plank.
NOTE! It is normal for the plank to ignite during use. Keep a spray bottle of water ready and use it to extinguish any flames that may arise and to slow down the burning of the plank. Definitely immerse the used plank in water after grilling as there may be embers and glowing particles inside the plank that can reignite later.
